Who are we?

Belmont by the Numbers is edited (and occasionally written) by Jane Rosenzweig and Erica Zidel. We are Belmont residents who moved here and wanted to get involved, yet realized that we didn’t fully understand how the town works. And without a good understanding, it is hard to have a good opinion.

Hi there. I’m a Boston native who grew up on the South Shore. After a stint in Seattle, I moved back and have lived in Belmont since 2011. I am a management consultant whose day job involves solving complex business issues across a wide
range of industries (or, as my kids put it, “doing work on a computer and going to meetings.”). I currently serve on Belmont’s Disability Access Commission and formerly on the Vision Implementation Committee. I have two kids - one at BHS, one in preschool.

Hello! I’m a Chenery parent and a 9-year resident of Belmont. I teach writing to college students, which means I spend a lot of time talking about claims, evidence, and analysis of evidence. I’m very interested in helping to foster dialogue about the future of Belmont by gathering information and making sure that our decisions about our town are based on evidence and a clear understanding of the numbers.
